Powr-Flite NM2000DC Dust-Control Burnisher: 2000 RPM with Integrated Dust Capture
The NM2000DC is the dust-control configuration of Powr-Flite's 2000 RPM Millennium Edition burnisher. It delivers the same 1.5 HP, 16 lbs pad pressure, and 26,000 sq ft/hr output as the NM2000 but adds a dust control skirt that captures fine particles released during high-speed burnishing — protecting indoor air quality in occupied buildings and reducing post-burnishing sweep-up labor.

Indoor Air Quality and Occupied-Space Burnishing
High-speed burnishing at 2000 RPM generates fine particulate from the burnishing pad and floor finish contact — particles that a standard burnisher releases into room air. The NM2000DC's dust control skirt encloses the pad zone and channels exhaust air through a collection path, capturing particles before they become airborne. This is the critical difference for facilities operating under LEED, CIMS-GB, or BOMA green building standards that specify indoor air quality controls during cleaning operations. Hospitals, schools, and occupied retail floors that run burnishing during business hours benefit from the skirt, eliminating the ventilation requirements or building evacuation that standard high-speed burnishing in occupied spaces would otherwise require. Burnishing performance — 2000 RPM, 16 lbs pad pressure, 26,000 sq ft/hr — is identical to the NM2000 without the skirt.
NM2000DC vs. NM2000 — When Dust Control Changes the Calculus
The NM2000DC and NM2000 are the same burnisher at the same RPM, pad pressure, and productivity. The DC variant is for facilities where burnishing must occur in occupied or partially occupied spaces, where indoor air quality standards prohibit uncontrolled fine particulate, or where LEED and CIMS-GB certification requires documented dust control during maintenance activities. The NM2000 without the skirt is the correct choice for after-hours burnishing in unoccupied buildings where ventilation handles particle dispersion. Both carry the same 1-year parts/labor and 10-year housing warranty and the same 75 ft cord.
