8500 Bearing-Guided Mortise Bit – Carbide Tipped, 1/2" Diameter, 1/4" Shank

Designed specifically for use with Woodhaven hinge jigs, the 8500 bearing-guided mortise bit makes cutting hinge mortises fast and accurate. It features a carbide-tipped 1/2" cutting diameter and a 5/8" OD guide bearing, mounted on a 1/4" shank for use in most routers.

This bit cuts a mortise with 1/4" radiused corners, which can easily be squared with a chisel if desired. It’s the most commonly used bit with our hinge jigs.

For applications where your jig must be mounted above a 1/2" thick door stop, consider the 8505 model with a longer 3/4" cut length.
